Combines Some Massey combine questions

Well, Rockpicker, I really envy you! I love the old M-H 90's! In fact, my very first combine experience some 35 years ago, was with a 90 Special Massey. Anyway, having done a little background research on this model, I found out that its 37 inch cylinder made it the largest combine in the world at the time. I think it better translates to being the largest SPC in current production. It was made from 1953-1956, with the Model 92 following in 1957. Yes, the cylinder itself, was always 37" and the straw walker body was also that. It was not until the Super 92, that the walker body was widened beyond its cylinder width. The Models 92, Super 92 and 410 all shared the 37" cylinder width. It was not until the Model 510 [concurrent with 410] that Massey had any major change in cylinder size. To many custom harvesters as well as farmers, the huge 510 was enormous and many believed at the time, no combine could possibly ever get any larger. It's funny, because in 1974, I thought the exact same thing about the great Model 760! Rock, take very good care of that old 90. You not only are farming with an antique, but in particular, an icon of combine history.

The 80 had a 32" cylinder and was 32" throughout. The older model 27 also had a 32" cylinder and had wider walkers... perhaps 37".
