On Saturday I started cutting some dryland corn in McPherson County. It is about like yours. The field was on a hillside. Up on top there was nothing. Down on the bottom next to the creek it was probably making 45 to 50. last year the field made 90. We got about 3_4 inch of rain last night.

We haven't started yet in NC KS. Put 3_4 of our dryland in the silo, hasn't been appraised yet. The remainder I hope makes 70 but I may be fooling myself, it was too far from my silo or it would be in there too. Tried to sell it, but for some reason the high hay prices haven't translated into silage prices and I wasn,t going to give it away and then have insurance call it 80 bu. and get no check. Irrigated won't be very good either, not enough water to do it alone and alot of it flash fired on one of the last 105 degree 40mph wind days. Dryland in silo was 5 -30 bu. by my estimates.
