Combines soybean MOG builds on rear axles

Is your MOG coming off the shoe or the walkersIJ If its from the walkers I wouldnt have any idea why you are having a problem because I dont have any experience with after market spreaders. I have had such good results with OEM spreaders and choppers I have no reason to try anything else. Tom in MN

I think Crary has a sheet metal shield which fills the space between the shoe and the front of the spreader. If not, it shouldn't be too hard to build one.

Tom, Its coming off the shoe. I have a chopper in place that takes care of the straw off the walkers.

There has to be something wrong with your airflow like maybe the fan drive belt is slipping. Sometimes it is necessary to attach the belt idler spring to the bottom of the separator frame or drill another hole in the frame to give more tension. You should also check the air splitter and set according to the book. Another thing to look for is anything that might be blocking airflow. If your aftermarket spreader is causing trouble I would lean toward simply removing it. Tom in MN

Tom, Ok. Maybe a dumb question but what is this air splitterIJ I don't remember reading about it in the ops manual. I have fan pretty well open at 6-7. Chaffer and sieve are set according to manual.

look near the bottom of the separator frame for some inspection holes with decals that say to keep clean or something like that. If you look in the holes you should see from side to side plus you should be able to see a piece of aluminum that runs the entire width of the separator. That is the splitter. The op manual has settings under fan adjustments or something similar. Where are you getting power to drive your spreaderIJ If it is any place other than directly off the engine you may be in trouble before you start. Putting additional load on the separator will cause those belts to slip and your shoe and fan wouldnt have enough rpms to throw MOG clear of the axle. If I had to bet on one cause of your problem I would say its your spreader. Thats where I would look first.

Thanks Tom, The spreader is hydraulic driven off the header reel drive.
