I think May Wes sells plastic shields that mount to the axle to prevent residue from building up. I think there is a picture of them in the latest Shoup catalog or I bet May Wes has a website with them listed.
Thanks for the pics. I tried to do something like that but with big rear tires they would catch and rip the bolts through the flaps and I was back where I started. I didn't do it exaxcly as you did though so I'll print the pics so I can look at the back of the combine at the same time. I also have the drop down spreaders that catch the chaff also, so I'm not sure if that's causing me complications also or not. thanks again.
