We had this done to 2 TX's. I think it did help, especially in tough conditions, but it's one of those things.... as a hundred people and get a hundred different theories on it. We also had a "speed up" on it to run it at 1:1. We removed it on the second machine thinking that the damage to peas and very dry barley wasn't worth the extra throughput. In my opinion, throughput isn't the weak link anyway. Sorry I'm not much help but I will say, if it was free (the spikes)I'd definately do it.
