Combines Spike toothed cylinder

Do you have filler bars in the cylinderIJ If not this will help. A spike tooth really does a good job in wheat and beans. Its downfall is in corn, especially the higher the moisture. T3

Try a set of lapped filler bars, make sure the bottom FOUR rows of spikes are in and in good shape, set the cyl at 1_2 the diameter of the smallest cob (about 1_2") and make sure you have the 20" pulley on the drive. The spike has the highest capacity with the hard surfaced wide spaced next then the regular rasp. If you have a lot or all corn I would rather have the rasp. In soybeans, many a jaw has dropped when an F3 w_ 16' flex head has kept up with much larger more expensive machines.
