Combines Spline IJ for Tom in MN

I'll tell you how we did it. We drill hub as close as possible to halfway in on splines and still be able to tap for grease zirk. Then we install hub and mark shaft where grease hole comes threw. Then we grind groove all the way around shaft splines so grease will enter groove and spread out evenly to all splines. Good luck.

My R60 is new enough to have 2 grease fittings or the first owner installed a new shaft or he drilled the shaft like Dan suggested. The second owner never really knows the true history. In any event, I would sure give Dans suggestion serious consideration. Its a lot easier than applying grease with a toothbrush every year. Tom in MN
