spreader will still turn at normal speed even if top brg. is completly gone. When load hits paddles shaft will bounce around causing monitor to go off. check top brg. could be electrical prob. but check brg. first.
Be sure and check bearings as they do fail. The other thing over looked is that there should be 2 spacers under bracket for sensor. if they are gone sensor is not far enough from flanges to read correctly. vstk
Be careful not to run with bad bearing for too long so that it wrecks the bevel gears. We replaced these this year. One was $176 and the other was $162! Ouch!!
We have had this problem with some units. We fixed them by taking a n60 sprocket with a 1" bore and we cut the sprocket and hub in half so as to be able to put it on the shaft below the sensor collar and then put a hose clamp around the sprocket to put it back together and use it to send signals to the sensor which is spaced down to just clear the teeth. Think it was 9 ot 10 tooth. Can't remember, one too big won't clear the sensor. The extra teeth generate enough signal to fool the system into thinking it is spinning faster and thus not trigger the alarm.
What is the cause of the problem anywayIJ We have had two R62s and it has happened on both. Sometimes it goes off when nothing is going thru the machine. I think this past year with not much straw it went off mainly on windy days. The pulleys look good, the bevel gears look good, and the bearings are solid. So what is the problemIJ Is that why they went to the hydraulic spreaderIJ
Module has tweaker screws to set when light comes on. I would idle back machine to about 1900RPM with the spreader on the speed you normally run and then adjust corisponding tweaker screw to just get light on or just go off at that RPM. Make sure to check all legs of sensing collar to see they all just clear the sender. The better the legs cover sender when passing by the better the signal. I haven't found the spreader light to be any more problem that others when set up properly. We have installed some 8 or is it 10 leg sending collars when we have altered the jackshaft pulley size that drives both elevators and eventially the spreader but that is only to keep light out when operating with spreader on slow speed. We slowed these elevator drives for edible beans and will not likely see enough corn to tax the clean grain system so we leave them slowed up some.
