The square tooth chaffer should give you a cleaner sample than the long tooth chaffer with less capacity. I am assuming you do not have reverse bars in the CDF, if that is the case, that is where I would start. The condition of the corn stalks (dry_stressed etc..) and type of cob (white,pink or red) plays a big part in getting a clean sample. You may need to look at how agressive you have you concave and grate set as well as rotor speed. It is my understanding that the CDF can be a little more agressive than the P3. If you go with the long tooth chaffer with your current settings you sample will get worse not better. You will get more capacity in the hills though. Bottom line is you need to find why out the cob is breaking up and address that, then you can address the chaffer capacity problem. JMHO, Pete Hinrichsen
