Combines Stalk roll spiral pins working out

I have a couple of points, that I could not keep the pins in. What I did was, put a 5_16 bolt in. I used a lock nut with loctite on the threads. I cut it off so no threads stuck out beyond the nut. It has been in for two seasons, and no trouble. Joe

Are you sure that you are supposed to be using roll pinsIJ... If memory serves I thought those were a solid rivit type of pin that was rivited after installation. In a pinch I've installed grd 5 and grd 8 bolts and welded the heads and nuts (after tightening) to the point many times. That seemed to work just fine too, never had a problem after that. Just my .02 Doc

The older heads, had a solid rivet. The 1100 series use a double spring pin( one inside the other). Joe

Thanks for the info guys. The bolts did the trick and the points are still tight after 50 acres of down corn.
