I have heard of them breaking, but I'm not sure it was from small stones. My guess is that it would take a pretty good sized one.

I read about those disrupters here frequently. Where do they bolt to and what is their purposeIJ

Here's a link for you to take a look at. They are a hard metal spike that mounts in the grate. They cut up material in the rear of the rotor.

CIH field rep said years ago that one of the biggest problems they had with AF combines was people opening the concaves in tough conditions. This causes the residue mat to stall, rope and make ugly noises. So when the going gets tough close the concaves so the rotor can get a grip on stuff and auger it out the back.

Very interesting. The disrupter will surely decrease the rifle effect in corn, that the STS is fighting very badly. Now I understand even better why people love the Axial Flow. There is a ton of after market stuff out there to further enhance the performance. Hopefully one day we will run red, too.

We bought a used machine that had everything we wanted except the specialty rotor.

let us know how you make out....everybody around here that has gone to the sp. rotor says they'd never go back to a standard. Have you ever run a standard rotor beforeIJ

Won't the disrupters break up corn cobs pretty bad though or notIJ I've been thinking about buying a set for my 1680 but don't want to break up cobs to bad either. curious.... happy farmin Brad NC. IN.
