On our 2188s I installed 12 gordon bars over the concaves on the specialty rotor and am very pleased with my reults. I thresh grass seed and wheat and don't have to change anything to change crops. just adjust rotor speed, fan ,sieve, etc. I find that the gordon bars make setting the machine alot easier. If you decide you want a standard rotor I have one I would love to sell.has about 400 hrs on it

redman, Do you also use the cover plates with your setupIJ You also said that you used 12 bars, where did you put them. I ask this because I have heard that you can put up to 20 bars over the concave area. Did you put them all to the front or did you space them outIJ Maybe there is only one way they can go to be balanced, I don't know. Thanks for you help, JC

There are 4 pedastals on the specialty rotor that are the farthest forward. I put the gordon bars there and use 3 gordon bars horizontally. So I have 4 rows of three. you must be sure you have the same weight bars on opposing sides of the rotor to ensure balance. this web si ght has a very good intructional page on installing the gordon bars. I do not use cover plates. I don't change anything from crop to crop except settings. For your use you may want the superior threshing of 20 gordon bars though. I have to try and maintain straw quality while getting all the seed, therefore I cant thresh real hard. never been in corn either so I don't know about that one.
