Combines Steel price increase

We asked our dealer about a head carrier last week. last year the nieghbor bought one for 1150 now the price is 1550. They told us that there was a 10 percent increase in Mid Febuary and there will be another 15 percent increase in March. This is all due to the price of steel. Sure glad we bought our combine last fall.

I have seen a few notices already of parts going up in price, and it seems like it will be a monthly increase till the steel mills stop the increases. I have heard it is because China is buying up all the steel to make all those products we have made over there. We want cheaper goods, and we are shooting ourselves in the foot by doing it. This is causing shortages of steel for manufacturers in North America, plus huge jumps in prices.

Just picked up 2 ten foot sections of 1 1_4 heavy wall pipe today, total bill $77 !!!( Canadian)
