Combines steep pitch helicals

I have the steep pitch on '97 R72 and know of no need to shim them for most crops. I have not heard anyone shimming them on the cage you have. If doing corn_beans I would however only do the steep pitch on the thresher side to get material off the concave with one revolution. To keep better seperation without reverse bars, I would only do the thresh side if doing it again.

We've had them made at local machine shop. We shimmed them first by 1_8" and then 1_4". We shimmed them in an effort to convey edible beans better. We didn't see a lot of difference and the rumble got worse in cab. We then came up with rotor sweeps and scraped some of our old ideas. I think tbran has been doing some shimming and may have some results. I surely don't think it hurts to shim by 1_8" but we don't go threw the trouble anymore. Some day if we start looking for more capacity again I may try it. Might just be the clear ticket to use along with new rotor or some attachments. I think maybe loewen has shims in catalog but havn't tried ordering any. Good luck with your project.

We have some, holes do not line up, have to be drilled. They are off the old N P1 steep pitch evidently. We are still testing, We have not started our non shimmed set up with the CDF rotor. The shimmed set on the works well but will see if any difference in a few days. We have not shimmed any in the R62's but I did shim a set in my R50 P3. It works well . We only shim the thresher helicals.
