Combines Stewart Welding Accelerator is impressive

That sounds great. I'd like to update my 1680 at some point also, but what would you estimate your total cost was to do the conversionIJ It seems like there are always extra $ needed to do a job like this right (or just fix the broken stuff you find doing a job like this). Also, is this just the elephant ear replacement or is this the complete rotorIJ Thanks, Pat

This was just the elephant ear replacement. I think the Accelerator was around $1600. I had a lot of other stuff done to my combine so I couldn't estimate the labor to just change the front end of the rotor but the mechanic said it was really simple and went on well.

Ditto on the Excellor kit. Very quiet and reduces wads. However it did nothing to help in the threshing in milo, see post below. I put in the hardened one, around $2000, took 4 hours, the hardest job was getting the old casting off. This is by far the single and cheapest improvement you can do to an older axial flow. Can't wait to get into green stemmed beans.
