There is no use to because I read on the Red forum that a 2188 was working circles around a R72 and Gleaner dont make a combine any bigger then that so I m sure Gleaner could in no way match anything that CASE makes. Illinois Gleaner
us silver riders are all a little particular about keeping the crop in the hopper, you red guys, a not so much.so keep cultivating, spraying volunteer weeds, and please keep chirping it entertains us.
hmm so putting more beans in the hopper than a newer gleaner while running faster and receiving less dockage is badIJIJIJIJIJ maybe your the one who needs to stop and think it over
Redbut, Why would you ask the question if you already know that your big Case will out do the Gleaner in your previous post IJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJ GEE THATS A MYSTERY!!!!!!!!!!! Illinois Gleaner

A C-IH is a really good machine as far as grain sample and relialility, but as far as capacity is concerned, forget it. Gleaner will outdo it by far during the day, and at night the extra hp on the gleaner comes in very handy. C-IH in our area is a hired mans dream, as they always have to shut down as soon as the sun goes down. You also don't have to miss church on Sunday maornings with a C-IH as you always start later in the day with an IH. So if you're lazy or religious IH does have it's advantages.
If you can't think of a good reason to chose a brand, on its merits then chose on the dealers merits. Parts availabilty, location, service, etc. Oh,by the way I run red because of dealer and I'm very well satisfied with the brand.
Have you looked at the machine. The cleaning system is nothing like the one in the 480. The fan placement on the sieves are different and there is more wind placement where the prep pans end and the sieves begin. This keeps the trash from ever landing on the sieves. Therefore better cleaning. They have a fancy name for this but I'm not sure what it is. This is also why the new 580_585 is narrow body and can still out perform the old 480s. Also in the seperation area the rotors are different from the old 480, they are more aggresive. Hope this helps. All in all the proof is in the pudding. Run one then decide.
