Combines Straw blocking outside of cage

Are you using a couple of reverse bars on the discharge sideIJ If you are, you might exchange them for forward bars in this crop. Also, cage helicals may be worn somewhat -- long straw feeds fairly easily, but rounded corners on helicals won't resist short straws so the cylinder can move them out, and they will upend and drop thru the cage openings, probably bending over in this process and hanging up on the sides of the openings.

like TJ said bars and helicals. If you allready have green stem helical kit added you may wish to shim or double up helicals. Channel helicals will as good or better than stacking helicals. If you are running without cage sweep you may want to build divider wall between thresher and seperator side like newer machines have. Seams to only need a couple cage covers if bars and helicals are set up right and only a couple cage covers would be needed if false wall is built.
