WE HAVE BEEN IN THE STRAW CHOPPER BAlANCING BUSINESS FOR 25 YEARS. OF COURSE HAVE SEEN JUST ABOUT EVERY THING THAT GOES WRONG WITH STRAW CHOPPERS. THE VERY BEST JOB ON THE CHOPPER ROTOR CAN BE ACHIEVED BY REMOVING THE ROTOR FROM THE CHOPPER HOUSING,AND PlACING IN A TWO PlANE BAlANCING MACHINE. OTHER METHODS ARE TO HAVE A VIBRATION ANAlIZER HOOKED UP AND PREFORMED RIGHT ON THE COMBINE. BEARINGS,SHAFT RUN OUT (BENT SHAFT),SHAFT WEAR IN THE BEARING AREA ARE JUST SOME OF THE THINGS THAT CAN EFFECT THE BAlANCE OF THE ROTOR. REMEMBER TO "AlWAYS" lOCK THE lOCKING COllAR IN THE SAME DIRECTION THE SHAFT TURNS. THIS WIll PREVENT THE COllAR FROM COMING lOOSE, AND WEARING THE SHAFT AT THE BEARING AREA. GOOD lUCK! TOM AT TSR
