We bought some straw that had been through an STS, we like to roll the bales out for cattle bedding. When I try to roll them out they just fall apart in one place because the straw is very fine. Never again for me.
We have some customers that use their straw as ginsing cover in Ontario, and they do notice a difference in straw coming from our STS compared to our conventionals. They don't really complain about it so all is good. If you do it earlier in the year there is no difference between the two. Every farmer is different though.
