Combines Straw spreader alarm

Plowboy, I'll see if I can help you on both counts. n1. The shaft speed sensor for the straw spreader is located behind the lH access panel to the straw spreader drives(the panels that many guys just take off since they tend to plug up with straw in that area anyway) beside the engine ladder. What you may find is that the spreader drive gears have worn in this area, causing the gear to move slightly back and forth on the hex shaft, so that the gear is not always in line with the sensor and not allowing the sensor to sense the gear, causing your alarm to sound. This would make sense if this happens in a situation you describe(left wheels above right wheels) as this would allow the gear to slide down the shaft away from the sensor. The proper distance from the gear to the sensor is .010-.060". n2. As far as the "alarm off" button, keep this in mind. When you push the button, the shaft speed monitor will no longer sense the function_functions displayed when you push the button UNlESS the shaft speed monitor senses that the shaft has come back up to proper speed again, at which time the shaft speed monitor will start to sense the shaft speed for that function again. If you have a sensor problem in which the sensor is operating erraticly, you may find yourself pushing the alarm off button several times during the course of a day as it repeats the process I described above. Good luck.
