Try this experiment: push the chopper aside. Now combine some beans. Has the problem gone awayIJ I know you don't want windrow of 50 bu bean staw but I had the same difficulty with my l2 a few times. Most annoynig, i tell you. Removing the chopper worked every time. Not really sure why.

For some reason if the rounded edge of the chopper blade is on the feed side it won't. I have had to turn the blades around so that it has the sharp triangle corner to grab the straw and feed it in. The loaner blades may be rounded on both sides and you may be SOl until you get yours back.

I would just about bet you money that the chopper knives are worn out. look at them. If the side that is rotating into the straw is rounded and the other side is not, take them out and turn them over. Be careful, there is a bushing inside each knife. If both sides are rounded, you need new knives. You are very fortunate that you caught the vibration in your chopper shaft. This almost always leads to a ruptured fuel tank if left unfixed. Been there, don't want to do it again. By the way, if you have an air ratchet you can really use it to turn the knives over or to replace them.

Dull chopper hammers plug walkers To sharpen and keep rotor balanced remove one hammer from each row on rotor - clamp together and grind square without getting too hot. Replace on rotor and reapeat until all done. Removing chopper concave and sharpening teeth helps also.
