Combines straw walkers build up with cobs

Are you grinding up the cobs too muchIJ, so that they get caught in the walkers. Have you had this machine a while or is this your first yearIJ If this is a new machine to you are you sure it has corn walkers. Don't know if the 20 series still had grain machines, but we had a 1978 6600 that was a grain machine. It had the walkers with the rectangular holes. They would not work in corn as the cobs would catch in them. Check to see if walkers have raised tin in the holes, like a perforated grain bin floor. Not the greatest explanation, but kind of hard to describe. I had a 1982 7720, you could go 4 mph in 200 bushel corn on level ground. Hillsides were a little tougher!

Question: Do you have the front beater curtain installedIJ It might be causing trash to pile up at the front of the walkers.
