Hey Rolf, sounds just like here.We had the 30deg couple of days ago and also had 16mm over the weekeend, almost does it for here. Not going to be a cracker but ok. We want to start on hay so would be happy for rain to go. You should get the rain we had about now I'd say. Oz.

I don't know how much smaller the popcorn auger is. I have just raised the auger when I wanted more clearance to trough. First thing to do is get sprockets loose on feeder shafts(may take some heat if they are not allready loose). Then shafts need to be pulled from machine to the right. We remove drive wheel for the front shaft instead of removing feeder housing. Be sure to loctite new sprockets to shaft by pouring into setscrew holes when properly positioned and ready to tighten up. W-rings surely won't hurt you but unsure if I would bother with them if you have not had any trouble with chains jumping onto currant guides. I would be only tempted to install on front drum for that is the only one that I have seen chain jump onto. I would grind slats square again when there are out if you have the time. We sharpened some chains this year to greatly reduce feed chain plugging (feeders tested to the max for most of the crop was cut flush with the dirt) Mass quantity of straw all laying flat on the ground. Keystock won't hurt that I know of and many reported that it reduced feeder plugging. Four pieces of 3_8 X 11" welded to slat inbetween slat and tention drum at four locations of front chain only. Good luck.
