Combines STS CHOPPER TAIlBOARD UPDATE

I have not had experience with it,but I saw it on some 2001 combines. It came with a new plastic cover over the belts and pulleys.Is that cover part of the new tailboard updateIJ And does anyone know how much if anything this update costsIJ

The update kit should be about $440.00, which is supposed to be a 33% savings only good through 8-15-02. The only parts on kit are an assembled 12 vane tailboard, and a bent bolt for chopper tension spring. The adjustable attaching arms get reversed from side to side.

What size header is this 12 vane tailboard forIJ I farm in the UK and have an STS coming for trial during harvest, pictures in the promotional literature show the STS leaving straw in 2 bands behind the combine. Is this tailboard to overcome thisIJ

YES THE TAIl BOARD IS SUPPOSED TO CURE THE UNEVEN SPREAD. AS FOR THE SIZE OF THE HEAD, THERE WAS NOT A SIZE SPECIFIED.

We have a STS with one of the new tailboards on it. We've only used it a couple days but it seems to do a very good job. We are running a 25ft flex and it spreads the full width with the fins in almost all the way and the board at the low setting. The second and third fins from the out side are curved on the bottom so all the straw gets thrown instead of some droping. One of those fins also have little pieces of sheet metal bolted to the end that acts like an extension.
