I completely agree with every observation you have made. I did a test drive of a 9750STS last year, and then a CR970 about a month ago, and was completely impressed. We were running a 36' draper head in 45 bus_a wheat, and went at 7.5mph with no problem. The 9750 wouldn't even be close to that. The JD, did not even have remote sieve adjustments, which I find to be a huge asset. The only problem I can see with the CR is the price. Hopefully NH will get that sorted out, or they may not sell to many in today's ag economy.

I'm a little confused....were all the negative comments for the JDIJ What didn't you like about the CRIJ

two things I don't like about the CR.1. The price!!!!!2. The weight. 33,000 poundsIJ We haul our combines all over. even up in the rocky mts.thru laVeta pass at 9700 feet. Our trailers are not made to haul that big of a load.

Have you bought into the mini-cylinder for the return instead of just sending it back to the rotorIJ

Yes I have "bought into it". It is not new technology, but sound. Massey used this ideamany years. The CR application really works slick. It's one of many improvements to help sample Quality. It is on the left side down low, easily observable and easy to service if necessary. By the way They did some corn for Frito-lay last week and got a 100% quality rating. Can't get much better than that. JD can't come close to that. In fact I don't think Frito-lay will even let a JD start to bring them corn untill a factory trained mechanic signs off on adjusting the machine. They were running the CR rotors at 370 rpm. In other words the smple was perfect. And it was too. 170 bu. corn at 6 mph with the 12 row head. Something like 4400 bu_hr. Awesome!!

I remember watching the Massey's run the whole return on the ground because they couldn't get weedy wheat through it. It was an absolute disaster in wheat with buckwheat. Kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth for the idea, but if properly executed, I guess it should work. I'm sure there is a crop out there somewhere that will be difficult for it, but probably not corn.

That returns system has been on the TX's for years and works very well.It also has the advantage of being able to check the amount of returns on your infoview monitor and tailor your settings.I once asked A NH official why the returns were not put back up to the cylinder and he replied that if you are having a problem threshing at the cylinder already that you would just make it worse adding your returns there too.

Ive ran the jd but not the new cr looks good but to complex. we run r72 gleaners dont really care for the ne cabs but the new R75 is a nice machine and there priced right and are pretty light weight.

So NHDon, What is the priceIJIJIJ I have heard from $325K to $355K. I find it really hard to believe that the price is that high! That would be hard to swallow even in a good year. I just would really like to know what the botom line is.

The returns system in the CR and CX combines has been a proven entity in the Tx combines for about a decade along with the self levelling shoe along with dozens of other features not very well promoted in their Tx line of combines. All these features have been incorporated in New Hollands new line of combines. The 30000 pound plus weight is a definate asset to the new combine lines as it indicates the combines are made of iron not tin as the competition does it. A premium built combine with built in structural integrity is worth a premium price. Too many North American combine manufacturers are producing tin combines and charging the long dollar for them. These new Iron built machines by New Holland should be the norm for which all other combines are compared to. I speak from experience on structural integrity in combines as I have run TX models for years and strongly believe they along with these new models are built with longevity in mind. These are not throw away combines after 1000hrs. as their competitive counterparts are.
