Slow the thing down! rotor 6-800 concave 6-10 seives adjust to the conditions, fan 8-1000, even if you have the big bar concave take out those inserts. Most of this I learned last year from a operator harvesting food grade beans and seed corn. Told me he couldn't get a decent sample without running it on the ground so tried a lot of different settings that sound way out of the "box". I got home and tried it and it works perfect. Will put grain samples against anyone. No loss of capacity or ground speed and nothing---nothing out the back. In corn this year I ran 1-3 on the concave and as slow as the rotor would go (without drive belts slipping) to 450 rpm. fan wide open, sieves, top 12, bottom 6. Again I left out all concave fillers, solid and bar type. 6 mph, 150 bushel corn, 18% moisture, 12R 20" Geringhoff roto-disc head. Was running in four wheel drive so speed was limited to 6-6.2 mph. Enough blow'in. Run her slow and tight was the best tip I ever got.
