A very fair question indeed. Has been the STS's biggest performance limitation since '99. Time to fix it.

Has anyone heard about Deere testing a self-leveling shoeIJ I've heard that they tested one in Nebraska Fall 05 but haven't heard it from someone who has seen it. I've seen the distribution issue that rotor combines have solved in the CNH (NH and CASE)with the shoe staying level and no dividers. It looks like a fundamentally correct thing to do.

We have a 9660 sts and getting around 35 and 40 ton hr in wheat with still power up our sleeve I cant see much point in having the same header guts with larger hp. One thing that does make a difference to your capacity is how clean you want your sample to be,I say rough it up a little open top and bottom seive a little more than recomended allow more air to get through and more grain to drop down which then allows for less material to be sorted. Also open concave right up when it is dry and crisp this makes a big difference. cheers :)
