I dont understand your guestion about changing turbos and motors. What am I missingIJ

Its kind of like when I watched a video on the CaseIH's, and they never show in the video them replacing concave hangers every day, or replacing rotor belts daily in canola or flax, or having the cab mounts break loose, or frames cracking on them. Its kind of like when I watched a video on the Gleaners, and they never showed the ten's of thousands of dollars you needed in updates, or gear boxes breaking, and on and on.

everyone makes a lemon, it is more bout mantince and the operator than the machin, we have never had a gearbox go out and have very few updates

Here in Aus. the engines have a reputation as hand grenades. Owners having up to three turbos replaced in a season. Engines ingesting turbos then throwing con-rods etc.

What is happening to these turbo'sIJ Is the turbine wheel being chewed up or is the bearing center going to heck and locking up the turboIJ What kind of service program are these owners using on these machinesIJ.....If they air cleaners are plugged clear full then you can darn sure bet it will suck the seal out of the turbo and it will start eating oil and that there is the death of the engine and turbine. Now of all the people I talk to on and off of this site I have never heard of a claim like this. Sounds to me like plain abuse and lack of maintenance on the owners part. I don't care what color it is, if you don't take care of it it's going to go to heII in an handbasket in a very very short period of time. later Deerebines

These machines were either company demo machines, or customer machines in their first year of operation. This is not isolated, I know of approx 5 machines in a small area, one in particular had three turbos, three other machines had engines fail. 9650 and 9750 STS. Do not blame the customers!!!!!

Demo machines would explain alot. loads of people getting in and out, Starting and shutting off still hot and just done from coming under load. That will kill any turbo if the engine isn't given time to cool down before shutting it off. As for customer machines.........if there were very many than they were doing the same thing. Pretty funny if this is such a problem of deere this is the first I have heard of it is now from across the globle. Noone ever wants to own up to responsibility when it comes to poor maintenance and they could be stuck with a bill of thousands that's otherwise taken care of by warranty.

I have owned several John Deere combines and never had any real problems with turbo and motors.

If i'm not mistaken, and correct me if I'm wrong, JD combines use the same engine as the 7710IJ, 7810, the whole 8000,8010, and 8020 series, and the 9100,9200 (some),and the 9120. In addition to this is many of the past JD combines in the 9000 and 9010 series. They all use the same 8.1 l engine. Now I have never heard of engines blowing in these tractors so I find it hard to believe it would happen in the combines.
