Combines Sunflowers with a corn headIJ

There is a kit made that consists of an angled knife that is supposed to shear the stalk off as it enters the header. I saw it about 3 years ago and have not seen one since. So I don't know if it worked or not. If I remember right it wasn't real easy to put on and take off and wasn't real cheap either. In my opinion you would be better off either adapting a JD row crop head to your machine or put on a set of sunflower pans on a grain head.

I'll double Silver Bullets remarks. I know a guy that had a 8 row 22" JD head on a R50 and he had the knifes. I'll wire his number to you.

got your photos, thanks a bunch. The tips are starting to smooth out, they look pretty good and won't likely wear between teeth at all. Talk to you next season, Gerald.

I hope you were able to see what you wanted to. I'm looking forward to running in wheat. I'll finally be able to make a good comparison between the rotors. Wheat harvest looks promising at this time and we should be starting around the first of July.
