Combines Sunlin Wheat in Australia

Can't help you with your question James but maybe you can answer one for me. In the U.S.A. our rain gauges measure in Tenths_hundredths_ and inches. 10 tenths is one inch.....What would be the conversion of 130 points to our measurement of rainfallIJ Just curious is all...Take care

in reply to the 2 qusetion that have been ask we had sunlin in 1997 an we good not bash it out it was nearly impossable we would nearly crack grain to trash it that this is what we did with a tr98_85 we screw the concave right up an than as much wind as possable the other question is there 100pts in an inch off rain but in australia we are metric we work in milmetres there are 25 mm in an inch but pts sound better we live down around condo_west wyalong area

Deerebines,ten points equalls a tenth so 130 points equalls a inch and three tenths.Here in Queensland where we have had only 40 points or so since the wheat was planted now have had showers,storms and hail 4 times in the last ten days. P.S. we started the wheat harvest ten days ago. the little wheat that survived is yielding 6 to 9 bushells to the acre,the best we have harvested hit 18 bushells to the acre.john

James i have been harvesting Sunlin since it has been in the testing stage and every time the stalks are like wire and you just about need a hammer and cold chisel to get the grain out of the heads.Did you get any black point in it this yearIJ One good thing about it is it doesn't shatter and almost hailproof. john

Thanks for your response john, we havnt had any black tip yet, but we are waiting for wheat to dry our after 130 points, so it could be a different story when we get back into it. James

Haven't had any experience with Sunlin but some with "Data". It is unreal. It's nearly imposibble to thrash out properly and not crack the s^nt out of. Sometimes you've got to do the best that you can and just close the eyes and keep going! Did you know there is an Aussie harvest site where you can post questions about harvest etc. www.agha.org.au

We've been harvesting Sunlin wheat at Meandarra area in Qld. We have a New holland Tx66 but there were JD's, Case, Massey, and NH's and nobody could do a real good job on it. We tried everything but could not get the sample as good as we would like. It's almost impossible to thresh.
