Combines Sunnybrook cyl causes dust to come back out feeder

Fix - Drive into the wind. Ha! Ha! I have a St Johns enclosed cylinder and it does the same thing. I have the biggest problem in soybeans. If it is a calm day I can't see the header. But the increase capacity is well worth the aggrivation.

You will have to do like they they do with the 9000 series Deeres, put a blower on it to suck up the feeder house dust and blow it back under the combine.

Anyone know if that is a problem on the R machines with the SunnybrookIJ Am putting one in R72 and had not heard that comment about the R'sIJIJIJIJIJ

Dust was not a problem for us last year. It worked great and you will be happy with it.

Sad, that an aftermarket cylinder makes a Gleaner go to a Deere acting machine. Sunnybrook must have some of the fired JD 9000 series engineers working for them.

The dust coming out the front is from the turbulence created by the solid rotor. The OEM cylinder let the dust flow through it and did not create such a fan affect. You might be able to help yourselves some by putting a rubber curtain over the top of the header opening. You can make it yourselves or ask your dealer to sift through his bone pile for an R series spreader curtain. You can cut off the bad part and use the rest. The R series has a rubber curtain (optional) for the header that really helps to hold the dust down. The Sunnybrook cylinder in an N or R series machine did not have a dust problem as the rotor is so far back in there and the dust has more places to go like through an open cage. Kelly
