I have an 84 N6. The tailings into the accelerator rolls has never been a problem for threshing. Once in awhile the tailing will plug right were it drops to the accelerators if I run into really green soybeans. I combine wheat barley and soybeans

I have a n7 and I have return to cyl. The only time I need return to cyl is in tuff wheat.

I have a 84 n7, never run more than I need on return, make sure accelarators rolls are good, clean grain pan, ahead of seives, keep crap off, rools are right below, makes a difference, my thoughts, scott

Different continent, re Australia, and very different harvesting conditions. We do not have the US system of the rapid cleaning at our delivery points and a bad sample will mean non acceptance on delivery or very heavy penalty dockage. Crops were wheat and barley. Combine 82 N7. We had to have a tailings to cylinder return to ensure good threshing for our crops. We cut a 12 inch long hole where the tailings landed in the trough under the cross auger in front of the thresher cage. The hole allowed the tailings to drop straight down through the trough onto the rear elevator and into the cylinder for rethreshing. If tailings rethreshing was not needed, this hole could be closed with a fitted door which then allowed the tailings to be augered along the trough, bypassing the cylinder and going direct back to accelerator rolls. Fitting or removing the door took a couple of minutes. The trough never needed to be removed. With tailings to cylinder return, you do have options in difficult conditions. Cheers.
