Combines taking rotor out of 1440

Very easy to remove feeder of combine, especially if you have a skidloader or tractor loader. Put bucket under front of feeder, remove pins from cylinders. Take a chain from top of loader bucket and put a bar in 2x4 channel toward rear of feeder, attach chain to bar on each side of feeder housing. Unhook springs from door under feeder. Remove quick pins from l-pins on each side of feeder, remove l-pins, feeder should now come off. If you have feeder cutoff, unplug wire in channel. Don't have to remove rotor, take blocks and block up front, jam blocks in tight under concave and lip in transition cone, you may want to remove center concave and hook a comealong to rasp bar support to make sure rotor doesn't come out. Once everything is supported remove bolt on center shaft of rotor then remove bolts on each side of support plate. Remove plate and bearing housing. Keep track of washers on each side of bearing. Unbolt housing and turn bearing out.

don't need to remove rotor to fix bearing on 1440 just take front concave out and block rotor up then turn the ear down and block the rotor so it will not slide down. then remove the end nut on the rotor and then undo the front plate(if you look close you will figure which plate i mean)then pry the front plate with the hub and bearing and it will come off in one assemble. ps i did two this year at work 2002
