G'day Pengs5. How are things in your neck of the woodsIJ Bloody dry down here, north, south, east and west of Horsham. Even the wet area boys over towards the SA border and down towards the Grampians are too dry for a lot to come up. Nearly everybody has stopped sowing and they are getting real toey as it is getting late particularly up north towards Swan Hill. I'm curious. Where exactly is your locationIJ I think you have a wire off or serious resistance in the circuit some where but one of the more knowledgeable lads on here will probably know the answer. Cheers.

Hi ROM. We are 8km's north east of a little town called Gooloogong . 25 k's west of Canowindra. Central west NSW 1 hour from Orange 45 mins from Parkes. Dads farm is called Tullyvea after the little siding near you somewhere .Great grandparents had a farm there. Dry here also only had 4.4 inchs for the year. The .4 one week ago having huge frosts -5'c to -10'c. Dust starting to fly again . About Half way done sowing here wet or dry (mostly dry ). Watered wheat under one centre pivot first time we've ever done that. Only sowing wheat this year on rest of dryland . Every one is toey and depressed around here even us irrigaters with the odd green paddock as storage dams are really low and we are due to get the big tap switched off end of June. So meals on wheels continues ,Fuel price is bad and it wont bloody rain. lets hope it rains the rest of the year ! Yeah I think i might have a bad earth in ol N5. If you get a chance have a look at this weeks The land paper front page story on angry new Header owners and there dissapointing machines. Good reading. Bye the dust is calling me. Ian Pengilly

This not news to me as I harvest at some farms with large groups of other combines and last year was getting beyond a joke for some contractors and their new machines braking down and lack of backup service. Headers (combines) only a month or so old were sitting in the corners of paddocks waiting to be fixed and their owners getting very upset and not just one colour either.

I would say they should definitly go out when you turn off header(front) switch. Might want to check wireing schematic to see which wire should lose its currant per header switch. If currant is droping off with switch off you may have internal tattletale problem. If currant is not droping off it could be contacts in header switch on the side of switch dedicated to tattletale that are stuck on. Otherwise maybe some rodent has got in and bared some wires. Hope this helps you track it down.
