beater helps to keep light crops from going out too fast, I think the owner's manual states this. Will do corn_soys without it under average conditions. Ben
It will run corn and beans ok, as a matter of fact Gleaner built a years run of F's without a sep beater. The beater is there to fluff the crop and maintain air flow for certain crops. Remember to pull the metal curtain over the raddle fully up or out for corn and beans and down for wheat.
