we bolt them in the very bottom on top of the channel bars that have the wires running through them. lately, however, we have been using a cyl bar off a TR70 - its a long story how we came across a lOT of these. On these we are adding one on the right rear of the adjustable separator grate, lh side, the the first row. Beauty of this is if one encounters cyl loss you can tighten up the sep grate just a little -1_8 or less and it really helps as the bar goes in deeper as well. The TR bar has a lip on the back side and is a little easier to bolt in as it has threaded holes. Will try to post a photo if Natek will oblige along with proto of different type of system we are trying. Really think the retarding method will replace the reverse bar idea as it seem to consume less hp with less crop twisting and roping as the MOG spins around the cage.

Only place I have fastened rasp bars in a P3 is right behind seperator grate in between the helicals. I cut very old style flat rasp bars to fit and secured them very well. I tried some with rasp running the same way as helicals and some that angled the opposite way. The opposite way seemed to cause a little more grawling but neither took any noticable power. There was very little loss without them but some less with them. The reason I have them beyond seperator grate is because most of my machines have seperator grate covers made of cage material so they are allready a 1_4" closer to cylinder bars. So I wanted to come up with a way to faster rasp bars in if there was a rotor loss problem. I've been anticipating a rotor loss complaint for I have most machines set up with all forward extended bars and many with steep pitch helicals that are shimmed closer to cylinder by 1_8". So far I have no problems with loss. Don't forget to start at the header and work your way back for if the feed is bad so will be the prosessing at the cylinder.
