you are correct, apply grease to the bushing, do not apply grease to the slip clutches which is what will happen if one greases the zerk. Add shims until the clutch has the torque you need. More of an art than a science.

people in my neck of the woods joke about applying chloride to the clutch jaws so they rust up good and have extra gripping power 
in my opinion once a jaw type slip clutch slips they are more or less shot unless the edges are in absolutely mint shape just my .02 august wieser rosholt, sd
