did this last year. First you will have more loss than normal, especially the header. Close the stripper plates down, slightly narrower in ft than back, adjust speed to lowest loss. Cylinder speed may need to be a tad higher even though it will crack more corn to keep from demolishing cobs if they are weak. You may have to add a filler bar or two to the threshing grate. Cyl clearance will have to be approx 1_2" or even a tad less. IF the cobs will stand it. You will blow the some of light end kernals on the ground. look close and check their weight, if you can blow them out of your hand with a gentle breath , ain't nothing you can do bout that - they will not add to your yield anyway. IF you are blowing corn over, you may have to lower the air more than normal.

Thanks tbran. we might start end of next week. any sugestions on sep. grate and or reverse barsIJ btw saw the new video on agco web site; not one orange tractor to be found. Only two brief glimpses of R series. Not even mentioned as a brand. Whats up with thatIJIJ

The mgr of advertising on Agco brands has a step approach, first was MF, then Gleaner, then Agco as emphasis. Agco dealers still sell a good % of the 100+ HP tracotors. IF you sep grate is adjustable it needs to be pulled up 2 marks closer. If it is the high wire grate, ok but if the low wire (1_2" spacing) pull out every other wire. Reverse bars will tear up the cobs worse.
