An A-430 or A-438 corn head will need the filler kit to narrow the throat from width of the F feeder to the narrower K-K2 feeder. Tbran can go into it in detail for you, it does not look too complicated. I have been thinking of upgrading someday from K2 to F2 or F3 and would like to keep my A-330 head and take fillers out to go on bigger machine. Would be just as well off to find nice K2 Diesel and keep my heads though.

Earlies models did not have the holes, later ones did. Holes can be drilled. The drives on the 430 need to be double 15T sprockets lH and a double spkt on the RH. The K2s need a jackshaft drive to do it right, however I have seen a sprocket bolted to the outside of the belt pulley to avoid need of jackshft. This is iffy but will work and could be dangerous as no shield is availble for this.

We have done this before, but the memory is a little foggy. You will also have to have the K drive shaft as it is 1' longer than the F . The header auger will have to have the out side 4 fingers on each side removed best I can remember and auger flight extentions bolted and or welded in to locations similar to the K auger to bring the crop in.

Cornhead, if you end up with the one in Abileene, remember the machine has the 6" front spacers on it, will set your front tires out to not run down your corn stalks if you are on 30" rows, makes a big difference if you shred or mow them and saves your tires. Get the bolts with them too, 9" grade 8 are about $4 each. Make sure your machine has the large finals, some 1992-95 52's came out with small finals, I believe large finals have about 9.25" diameter hole in wheel(someone correct me if I'm wrong). Worked out great for us, makes the combine much more stable loaded on hills too. Bought mine with bolts for 300, worth every dollar, will never take them off unless trading machines. let us know how you do. Thanks

Well I called them and they said they had a unit off a 52 and it is extendable, and he said that they can fix that 72 that you mentioned, so hes not taking the RWA off the 72. He said that this one off the 52 is in really good shape, so I might go with it. My 52 is a 1998 so it should have the heavy finals. Those spacers sound good but I dont shred stalks, I do run the stalk stompers and they help a lot. Thanks for the help. Mike
