THE set up here in the mid south seems to be steep pitch helicals on the THRESHER merged or transitioned into the std pitch separator bars, helical extention, remove the 4 revers bars (or the two center and 2_3 of the end factory or lowen reverse bars, add the choppers or disrupters and IF loss is incurred add the retarding bar in the sep grate. Works GRATE - less filling. (bad pun - sorry) I also think if we run into a situation where we have to run really low rpm NDDANs sweeps would be the ultimate. ANYWAY we have proved in field sied by side test, in green stem beans, that the capacity of the R's can be increased 50 - 100%. This is a nice increase in anyones book. Plus even if one cannot double the ground speed the reduction in gearbox load and fuel consumed is significant. You guys should also be aware NDan had a no hold barred letter to the engineering staff at Gleaner. I amen'd and laughed so hard I did the old coffee spit. It is a slow process but we are getting there.

We're running the sweeps in tough 1000RPM wheat harvesting and they are making the standard upgraded machines shutter with envy. We set up the '04 R65 and 75s to run extremely well. There just ain't no crop the Gleaner should be afraid of anymore. Your setup for combines will work great for us and ours is on the exact same track. We've been begging Gleaner to look at what we are doing for a long long long time. Gleaner got my goat by making some changes that ticked me off. I just erased my last thoughts. If Mr. Baldwin was still around we wouldn't have to beg so hard to try get the latest improvements into the machines. It would take nearly nothing to make this nearly perfect machine perfect. You and I have nothing to lose and all to gain by keepin on a tring. Take care ya all.
