With regards to the Fore and Aft slow to retract, there are orifices in the Solenoid valve block which can be removed with an allen wrench. You may try and remove these and drill the holes larger. The fore and aft block is the left hand one looking at the block assembly from the rear. The rate of drop on the header is adjustable, look in your operators manual. Hope this helps you.
