Why should he not be able to do 800,000 bu with a 9860IJ I did 439,000 bu with a 9650 walker in 28 days, including 13 break downs and lots of weeds.

Tony, we should set that meeting up. A couple hours with us and a few drinks and you will want two of those deeres. But let us know it would be a pleasure to meet you and argue about combines.

The combine I used, was a 2000 model 9650 walker. It had 1200 sep. hours on, when I finished. It was bought used. So I assume it had a few inherent problems already. I try to remember my list here: The first breakdown was the new 8320 tractor. The bolts holding up the drawbar came loose and we didn't notice it until the drawbar broke off. That is the second 8320 with loose bolts and I recommend everybody to check theirs and loctite those. The graincart I didn't count, because it never stopped us. But the 1050 Kinze does have a weak spot on the auger folding. On the combine I had broken hydraulic hoses twice. Once related to a Crary spreader. I had two broken belts. One back to the chopper and the primary feeder house drive belt. The biggest combine breakdown was the feeder reverser. It was the standard size and completely destroyed. Another big one was when the outside dual fell off, made by Kirschner. About five break downs were corn head related. The four bearings on either side, where the n80 chain runs broke one at a time, also breaking the row unit drive shaft. I also had to replace the chains running the augers, due to heavy weeds going through and plugging up. I had to replace the bearing holding the idler for the serpentin belt at the engine. I caught it befor it gave trouble. I think the combine didn't do bad. The feeder reverser is an old JD problem and has been improved some already. I also don't know how much ours has suffered befor we got it and the same applies for the cornhead. In the future I will replace those bearings on the cornhead befor harvest. What I am not impressed with are the big holes we have under the grain tank cross augers now and the augers being ruined. A little heavier metal, hard facing, or poly liners from the factory wouldn't hurt. I fixed it temporarily with fiber glass putty.
