Class eight is the reason for the lexion. Premium grain quality, efficiency and productivity is the sole purpose why the lexion is exclusive to Cat dealers. lexions also have the broades span of combine classes (class 5 to 8) providing resonably to premium priced combines for every market segment. Replacing the lexion line with an augmented Massey line would not be practical, especially by JD, CNH and select Gleaner customers, whom the lexions cater to.

OK, we will see what the future holds and what Cat sells in volume in the future.

Its not always about volume. Farms are increasing at a deacreasing rate (bigger and fewer). Therefore, the future will pursue class 7, 8 and beyond size true combines and in-field logistics will be more critical when transporting grain from combines to field bins_trucks and elevator. Efficiency and productivity will continue to be a driving factor too. Two factors that only the lexion can proclaim as industry leading. I truely doubt that the core combine market will switch from their Deere and CIH combines to a Massey, no matter the color, engine and dealer. The quality of the Massey had better compound.

Cutter, I am not holding up for Massey , but when was the last time you drove a MasseyIJ When was the last time you had a GleanerIJ Give them a chance there not the 760 and N6 of the late 70's and early 80's. I'm sure without a doubt that what ever it is that you drive it was not anymore reliable then my R72 was this past fall. I took out the beans and corn and was down for 2 hours when I broke my header drive belt.If that isnt reliable enough for you , you must have too much to do. Illinois Gleaner
