Maybe it's just me and my naive thought, but how do you get corn out of the field at 5-7% moistureIJ What maturity are you growingIJ VarietyIJ CompanyIJ I want some of it if you can plant in late April and have 5-7% moisture in October!!! Around here, we plant the same dates usually and end up anywhere between 14% and 30% moisture. Just depends on the year and drying days we have. We have shelled corn in February that was only 14%!! WOW, you must doing something right out there~~~~

I don't think shelling 5-7% corn is such a good thing. You are losing money since n2 corn is based on 14% moisture. Picking at 14-16% is just about perfect as it doesn't need to be dried, gives the combine almost no load, and you are meeting the specs for n2 corn.

Weather permitting, we plant corn from Mid-April to Mid-May. We then follow with beans. Winter wheat gets planted after we run beans. Jeff planted all his winter wheat over the last 3 days. He traded his JD 4240 for a really nice 4840. That machine has some horses under the hood!!!!!
