They will have to come out quick with it, or loose more sales to Deere. Our custom operator traded off (12) 2388's for 12 J.D. STS 9650's. His neighbour, who has (20) 2388's also traded on 20 STS's. These guys are out of the lethbridge Alberta, Canada area.

Bigsky,this is something that has got me puzzled.Why do these guys trade all of their combines that they know work on something that still hasn't got a huge amount of time out in the farmers' hands,after all if you have problems you don't harvest you don't get paid.I prefer to stick my toe into the water to see if it's cold not jump in boots and all.Why don't they just try a couple of sts's. john

I'm assuming that JD came up with the big bucks! Its called volume discount. Its one way the Taylor boys can wake the Case IH dealer up. I heard that they traded all the tractors also.If JD wanted to give me a great big fat discount I might have to think long and hard about it.(not)

Yes they did trade all their Case tractors on J.D's. As you said they got the large volume discounts. In a large operation, I guess what counts is cost, financing, reliability, and dealer support.

Are these the same guys that traded their 2188 for 9600 and cts machines a few years ago only to trade them back on new case machines in just a short time some of the Deere's went unused

Taylors traded 11 of their 2188's three years ago to our JD dealer here in Saskatchewan.It just about ruined the dealership.They mergered with another JD dealer.I still think they have one left.It was almost impossible to make a deal after that because of the used inventory they just aquired.Who would want the headache of running that many machines anyway.
