Combines Thinking of getting new combine

Country Gal- What type of crop will you be using it inIJ An 8010 has amazing capacity. Basically you would need a 12 row corn head or 36' draper in small grains to even keep it full. It takes a pile of acres to keep those things busy. The cab is the best in the industry and most comfortable. All functions for the machine and yield monitor are off of one 8.5x11" touch screen. It is very user friendly. However, for price and performance, a 2388 is still hard to beat. Case will continue to make 2388's for quite some time yet and the cab is more than adequate. Hope this helps you out. Any other specific questions, I'd be glad to help. Your three daugthers still farm with you...interesting.

I would be running a twele row head. Next year We are planning on farming all of our land ,so we would be running 5000 acres thru one machine. we have no trouble getting the grain away .Two daughters run carts and one runs combine and our elavator picks up the grain. I still read about power problems on here with the 8010. But my girls really like the roomy cab. Whats the comment (still) all aboutIJ I am 42 years young and my last daughter is getting out of college this summer. If I was a man would you be asking thatIJ I do appreciate your help on the combines I am a little touchy about the chauvanism(spellingIJ). Tough being a women in ag business.

Well, when you talk about spending over $250,000 for a piece of machinery and you are most concerned with the "comfy cab" what the hell do you expectIJ I think this whole strand is a daXX joke. If it is serious, I suggest you get a lot more concerned about features, productivity, cost, reliability, longetivity and cost. Otherwise, forget the whole daxx thing and go to the beach where it is much more "confy" than in a hot, dirty grain field.

Easy fella, heck I am a fourth genration farmer and I crawl in the cab first off myself, comfy might refer to the location of controls, view of the platform from the cab, and yes how nice of radio it has. I have all girls and two of them would like to farm, so I can understand where she is coming from, in this so called mans business. It is guys like you that make her get her defenses up...

gben The cab is the first thing I look at. Im sure if you wanted better performance just take off the cab so you dont have to lose hp to that ac compressor. These women have 5000 acres to cover, so they are going to spend a while inside that cab. In my opinion the cab is the most important thing on a machine.

Country Gal- I meant "still" in a very positive way. I think it great that your daughters are still interested in agriculture and that you run the operation together as a family. So many people are so pesimistic about ag today. As a young person myself getting started in farming, it is good to see that there are young people out there enthusiastic about ag. That is hard to come by today. Basically, the guy on the Deere page is right, it comes down to which dealer is going to take care of you. Both will do a good job. The 8010 is a great machine but we run a 9660 because the local dealer takes care of us. Good luck with your combine search. Z Farmer
