We used to run an Oliver combine, and the cornhead was always a problem. When we got a John Deere back in the late 70s, we were amazed at how well the cornhead performed even in patches of johnsongrass and fall panicum, that used to be a big agrivation with the Oliver. My cousin has a Massey Combine, and the cornhead on that thing does not compare to the deere.

We used to run a White Oliver combine, and the cornhead was always wrapping. When we gog the JD 4400 back in the late 70s, we were amazed at how well the cornhead performed even in patches of johnsongrass and fall panicum, that used to be a big agrivation with the Oliver. My cousin has a Massey Fergeson, and the cornhead on that thing doesn not ompare to the deere. I think the biggest difference is the design of the rolls.
