I know this is an old message but this is a common problem on All conventional Gleaners that is easily solved. So, the problem of mog (material other than grain) wrapping the beater is caused by not enuf damage to the stalks to render them limp. This is caused by 1. too high a cylinder clearance, 2. worn cylinder bars. 3. unlevel cylinder 4. worn concave bars. 5. worn or damaged grate (obviously one should look for a tear or snag on the beater also that would grab and wrap mog) . As to the beater speed, it is controlled by the sprocket on the end of the cyl. lh side. 18tooth was std. best Ican remember. In all cases a 25 tooth will improve capacity . larger sizes are avail for very low cyl speed. lower raddle chains must be run tight to prevent wrapping and backfeeding. The metal curtain above the upper raddle needs to be bolted up to the horizontal position for all crops run below 800 rpm. This prevents backing up of mog over the sep. raddle which could possibly be sucked under the lower raddle. This also will help transfer material back to the sep. beater and on to the walkers in suspention rather than pushed in bunches. Just basic stuff that pertains to all conventional Gleaners. Tell your neighbors! Silver Seeders are created by illiterate readers. Did I spell illiterate wrongIJ Gleaners are AIR dependant. Most others sieve out mog. Once one understands the principles and adjustments ......Glnrs are fine machines. The proof is in the % of machines still running after 3 decades of service....Hope this helps....tbran
