Combines Throttle pulls back

Try balancing straw chopper. I seen a neighbors straw chopper so far out of whack it would pop the door open on the cab once in a while. If that doesn't work do the farmer fix and wrap a tarp strap around the throttle to hold it open. Just kidding.

Had the exact same problem on an 8820, It's awkward but if I remember right take two 9_16 wrenches (might have been 1_2") and there is a couple of bolts below the throttle lever, where it pivots. Reach down beside the lever, you don't have to take the console apart or anything, they are hard to see and hard to get wrenches on. I think there is a friction washer or something in there. Anyways to make a long story short tighten those two bolts snug and it should stay. They probably just got loose over time.

Thanks alot F-armer...worked like a charm. I had always noticed that it seemed pretty free moving. Thanks again.

There are friction washers in there between two metal plates that are held by a metal dowel pin. If it works loose again after you tighten the bolts then you dowel pin is probably broke loose. You will have to take the console apart and take out the metal box that your throttle is housed in and weld the dowel pin. Hopefully just tightening the bolt fixed your problem.

I saw a 6600 at a dealer one time that got so far out of whack that the whole a$$ end of the combine broke off!
