Combines tie rod ends

John, Your steering cylinders are stroking too far. The cylinders are pushing the opposite wheel against the stop and bending the tie rod end. Adjust the stroke on the cylinders so that the spindles just touch the stop. I had the same trouble with an R60 and Tom from MN clued me in to what was wrong. The tapered holes were wrecked, I got a machine shop to drill out tapers and install tapered sleeves so the tie rod ends fit again. Camshaft

I checked the steering cylinders as you suggested and wound up turning the tie rods in several turns on each of them. Now when I cramp the wheels there is a slight air gap where the stops are. I'll see how the rest of harvest goes and then this winter I will tear things apart and check the tapers. What did it cost you to get them fixedIJ Just curious.
